Sofa in a box · delivered in two

A full-size sofa. Two flat boxes.

A regular sofa arrives fully built and has to be wrestled through the door. Ours doesn’t. The solid wood frame is knocked down into flat panels in one box. The cushion unit (seat, back and fold-down arms) is compressed to about a third of its height in another. Both boxes slide through doorways, hallways and stairwells, and assembly takes about 15 minutes.

Unpacked, the foam expands and sets into the frame to form the finished sofa.   1. 1Unpack.Open the cushion box first and remove the wrap. The foam recovers to full shape over 24 to 72 hours.
  2. 2Assemble.Connect the side panels, back panel and seat platform with the included hardware. About 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. 3Relax.Set the cushion unit in the frame, lift the arms into place, add the pillows.
